Sometimes when I boot the Computer, it stays on the Bios screen for longer than usual, then freezes at the "Loading Windows" screen before it shows the animated Windows logo. Pressing any button on the Computer case forces it to reboot, it then loads Windows normally. Today, when I booted the Computer on, it did not boot up, but seemed to get "stuck", then beeped loudly continously and then...

Hi all - I was given a slightly rough, but fully functional Acer Aspire E1-431 laptop by a friend. It's a bit rough, cosmetically, but mechanically it is perfect. I had a bit more RAM to give it a boost laying around, so popped that in and installed Win7 Home Premium 64-bit onto it. All has gone well, but now that everything is installed, it's telling me the license key is invalid. As...

Hello there, SevenForums community. I'm looking for some assistance in fixing my laptop's USB ports, none of which are functioning anymore (I have three USB ports total: one is USB 2.0 and two are USB 3.0). I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 on a Dell Inspiron N5110 model laptop with an Intel Core i5-2410 CPU running at 2.30 GHz and I have 8 GB of RAM. Initially, about two...

Having more than a little trouble grasping how to add a new refurbished Dell Lattitude E6240 laptop running Win7 Pro 64 bit to an existing home network. Here's the map of that network: Image: https://i.imgur.com/Kw39UED.jpg (The unknown device denoted by the huge question mark is a Motorola Surfboard cable modem.) I'm fully able to work online, this post being a prime example. What I...

I have a couple of USB Flash Drives which contain different bootable systems. When I plugin the USB falsh drives into the USB ports of my mainboard, boot my computer and let BootManager show up then they all appears as "Sandisk Cruzer" So it is difficult to distinguish between them. Is there a way to change the BootManager entries and rename them e.g. to "mytoolsusb1"...

  • 11/19/18--23:25: Know CPR!
  • Hey everyone. This is off topic, but I have to share because it's very important. My dad just had a heart arrhythmia according to what the doctor said. My dad was unconscious. My mom called 9-11 and I gave CPR. Because I did that the Doc said I saved his life. In fact, he said people typically die with a heart arrhythmia. He's very, VERY lucky. So with that I wanted to share this video and...

Hi, I am getting a BSOD after unlocking my Dell Lattitude 5570. I had gone to dell, typed in my serv. tag and updated all drivers and firmware, and the BSOD still persists, although it is random. Would any of you be able to help me with this perplexing problem? I have attached the BSOD in zip format.

I want videos stored on my D: drive to open in Media Player Classic, and videos stored on my E: drive to open in VLC Media Player. I realize this probably isn't built into Windows, but I know there must be a way to do it. Worst case scenario, a small program could be written to "direct traffic." When a video file is double-clicked, it would Open With this new utility program, and that...

Hi everyone, I've been struggling with this, and none of the threads I've found on the internet so far have helped me. I'm trying to make it so that the background color of my windows in Windows is black (with a white font for the text). So like in the folders, computer, windows explorer, etc. I went into Personalization, Window Color and Appearance, and opened the Advanced appearance...

I want to make a custom boot animation because the default one gets pretty boring. There is a program called Win7 Boot Updater (Coder for Life - Project - Windows 7 Boot Updater (http://coderforlife.com/projects/win7boot/)), but it doesn't work on bootmgr.efi, which is used by my system. My system was originally a Win10 laptop I bought like 2 years ago. However, I "downgraded" to Win7 because...

  • 11/21/18--01:06: Wireless Mouse Jerking
  • Good day to all I bought a Microsoft wireless mobile mouse 3500 recently. At first I used it on my old notebook PC (Asus K43SV, Intel i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz, 4.00GB RAM, Hitachi HD, 64-bit Win 7 Home Premium, bought in Jan 2011). The cursor jerked erratically when the mouse was moved. Knowing that the notebook had become noticeably slow I moved the Microsoft mouse to use it on my...
