Hi, My chore is to remove the icon and the associated malware that my grandmother has allowed the scammers to download. She also gave them remote access to her computer and I want to make sure that is gone. When I right click on the icon there is no "uninstall" option, of course. I don't want to left click on it (execute it) because God only knows what it would do then. The icon...

Hello people, I have just joined your Forum but I really would appreciate any advice you can give to my current problem. I have very recently purchased an ASUS TUF Gaming FX504GE but perhaps surprisingly I did not buy it for its' gaming abilities but mainly as an upgrade from my previous aged Asus, which has served me well. To cut to the chase I thought that I could merely format the 128 SSD to...

I have an old Kyocera laserjet FS 600 printer which came out in 1999. This was before USB ports became a standard feature on PCs, so it just has an old parallel LPT port, or a DB25 as they were known. Whenever I needed to print anything I'd connect it to my old PC running Windows 2000 and it would print fine. Today I have a more recent computer which has no LPT ports, and has Win 7 on it, but...

Windows 7 Pro; Dell OptiPlex 5050 I have black shortcut icons but not all of them; the fixes I've found here haven't worked. I'm trying to narrow it down. When I hover from start menu, all icons look fine. When I actually open (I use Open All Users) Programs, the shortcut icons are black; the same happens when I drill one step further. Again, when I hover - no matter how far down I...

I started to get Outbrain pop ups 3 or 4 at a time and they are a nuisance to say the least. I have a desktop HP windows 7 64 bit pc. I ran my virus scan and nothing. I downloaded Emsisoft Emergency Kit found Trojans but not this one. I think I got the Trojan's from the same place the outbrain thing is from. I have run that program - Emsisoft 3 times. The first it found Trojans and the...

I did a search on the forums here, and couldn't find any posts on how to turn on chkdsk running on reboot in Windows 7 and also specifying which drives for it to run on. I want the command prompt "chkdsk /f" itself to run. I want to make sure it is the command prompt "chkdsk /f". I read something about drive consistency check, but don't think that is the command prompt "chkdsk /f". Also...

I'm on Win 7 64bit, and my Explorer windows always have the file path section at the top left adjusted too small with the Search bar on the right being much too long. The right-click menu has "Lock the toolbars" unchecked, and when I roll over the divider, I see the arrow icon to show that it should slide, but it doesn't. It won't budge. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you for your...
