Sorry not sure what subsection to put this in. I know XP is outdated, but we have a special program that only works on it. We have a program that is on XP on a server. That server is hard wire connected to our main server. We have Windows 7 computers connected to the main server through ethernet. On 1 of the computers we have a Windows XP virtual mode set up through Windows 7....

I'm seeing TrustedInstaller running much more than it used to. Anyone know why? I have WinUpd set to ask me before installing anything. I manually run Windows Update every day or two. What do I do now? It's eating 100% of CPU... mostly "Deferred Procedure Calls and Interrupt Service Routines"

Solved Folder icons aren't recognizing when folders have files in them

I noticed recently that when I make a new folder and put stuff in it, the folder icon doesn't change from the one that signifies that the folder is empty, i.e. new folders I make always have that single empty folder icon. I can still use Windows File Explorer like normal—I can open all the folders and access everything normally—but I was wondering why this small visual feature wouldn't work,...

hello wise ones, I have a small problem which is vexing me, and I cannot resolve it. I use Outlook 2007 and have it installed on two accounts on this computer - Administrative and my pawz account. Recently I played around with the fonts on the pawz account as my eyesight is not so good, so now everything is bolded (I would change it back if I remembered how, but I do not really believe that...

Startup Repair

I set up the Gateway in my sig about a month ago. It's an older Vista machine which I wiped and installed Win7 Ult. It hasn't had much of a chance to get corrupted, and I didn't change any hardware. C is the boot drive, D contains all my data. There's also a fctory-installed "recovery" drive in front of C, which is useless with the new OS. I started getting a Startup error, so I followed...

How do I make a restore disk for my new Windows 10 system? How can I get the system repair creator to recognize that I want to use a blank DVD instead of a USB? And what do I do about the fact that DVDs don't have 8 GBs? Can I use several in that case?:p

In working through the triage tree to fix a windows update error (updates wouldn't install), I got the dreaded "windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation" while attempting sfc /scannow. I've tried every single one of the fixes I can find to this error, safe mode, fixing permissions etc. According to the triage tree I am following, the next step is...

*Hello eveyone,* *I'm looking for a non gamer sound card that's the equal of the old M-Audio cards that won't work in 7 because of driver issues (mostly non existent). Just looking for high quality sound and not a lot of bells and whistles. * *I do have a desktop computer that I could put XP on for offline use. Why is AIDA64 giving me wrong system specs for my RAM?

0

AIDA64 is an extremely powerful diagnostic, repair and sensor program that I bought a used CD for the non-free version at flee market prices. It strangely did not know what my Motherboard was, so it asked me to scan and send them my desktop's details...not something I am a fan of, but that mobo isn't some obscure one, if you check my profile, it's an ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 (AMD3+ socket). But that's...
