My BUFFALO external Hard Disc is not working since long time. I am having so any important data in it.
Hard disk is connected and light is also blinking, but under Disk Management always getting a error message, *"you must initialize a disk before logical disk manager can access it"*
In Device manager, port is also showing under USB Controller.

Network (or possibly online) Anti-Virus programme?
Googling finds a number of such programmes, but can anyone recommend an AV programme which can be set to scan all other PCs on my home network, without the software being installed on every PC individually?
Or possibly an online scanner that will work over the internet?

Windows will not boot up
Windows was taking a very long time booting up, so tried to restart, then got command prompt with message: Reboot and Select proper Boot device, or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key_ I tried several things but still no OS. Laptop is Samsung RC512, about 6-1/2 years old. Never had this problem before. Any suggestions?

Missing COM Ports
After installation of a larger SSD, I found that my previously available COM Ports are not available. Looking through the listings on the Device Manager I found no available options to get to my old COM Ports.

Save SSD file to HDD needs permissions
Today I am trying to set up my boot SSD to save an encoded video file to the E: drive on system which is
a 1 TB hard disk.
That was a boot drive from which I cloned the SSD and things are running including saving across my small homenet.
I don't know how to change my admin privileges for this or know how to look it up unless it is in

Explorer keeps showing unwanted details for music and movie files
Whenever I create a new subfolder and drag and drop music or movie files into it from the parent folder, the details listed are changed from my preferred default details (Name, Size, and Last Modified) to Title, Contributing Artists, Album and # (Track Number). No Audio or Power Services after ArcGIS Update
Recently had an ArcGIS update and IT thinks this may have been what caused the issue (except it is fine with everyone else's computer here at work).

BIOS sees 12GB Windows 7 x64 sees 12GB (9.96 Usable)
My wifes motherboard got fried. So i bought her a new one along with a slightly upgraded cpu. She has a gtx 960 2gb pci-e 16x dedicated card. But windows for some weird reason is seeing all 12 gb of her ram but only 3.96 gb is usable. I got her a motherboard that has no onboard video to avoid the memory sharing unless you switch it over to dedicated in the bios.

BSOD occurs on startup every ten (or so) boot ups, normal in between
I have been experiencing BSOD every ten or so boots of my computer. I have no troubles in between and after the BSOD my computer does successful system restores, only to run into the BSOD a few start ups later.

I have just done a clean install and I have some app icons on my desktop but I cannot get them to stay where I place them.
