Hi I just went to devices and printers, and got a yellow bar at the top which said the following: Windows can display enhanced device icons and info from the internet Which, it seems, allows for an auto search on the internet for certain things related to your driver. What service is this, please? Thanks in advance.

Hi - I seek a 'for-dummies' process to record my pc desktop activity for a few minutes. Sort of like a real-time 'live' screen capture. Not sure how to word this correctly. If my standard W7 s/w lacks this function, I will gladly try a proven and tested *free*ware. -thx

Hadn't completed any substantial due diligence prior to deciding on adding RAID-1 to a friends computer. Their single internal drive which ran the OS and held camera images (overflow from filled up external HDD) failed. Now that they've experienced real loss I convinced them to build in redundancy. As their computer is predominantly being used to download/view camera image folders and turned off...

I have a wireless ergonomic sculpt keyboard & mouse I've enjoyed it but have always had connectivity issues. It only seems to work when it's almost perfectly flat, anything vertical and it cuts out, skips letters or doubles them. I've didn't have Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Center at first and then once I installed it it seemed to fix the issue and connectivity with the keyboard was...

  • 12/05/18--21:06: Reinstalling Win 7
  • I've reinstalled win7 pro sp1 to a new SSD. I've downloaded the convenience rollup (https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Update%20for%20Windows%207%20for%20x64-based%20Systems%20%28KB3125574%29) from MS. I assume my next step is to install the convenience rollup. 1. Any advice on how to proceed so as to have the smoothest, trouble free update to current day? 2....

Hello everybody. I want to install Windows 7 on the old lap top. I was wondering is it better to install *Windows 7* which I downloaded on 2010 (that Windows don't contains SP1) or *Windows 7 SP1*? What's you opinion?

  • 12/06/18--06:06: My Last Installation
  • I miss the good old before Windows 7 when I had to wipe the HDD and do a clean install almost every year when performance got to sluggish and problems became more frequent. Then I got my Samsung RV711 laptop with Win 7 Home Prem. in early Feb or March 2012 and haven't had to do do a clean install since that first OOBE. • 12/06/18--09:43: Backup Internal Hard Drive
  • Hi, Is there a reason for not using a SSD as your backup Hard Drive. Would using a mechanical hard drive be a better laptop setup than having a SSD instead? In other words is your main SSD & replacing the secondary HD with a SSD have any negitive or positive effects on a laptop? My thoughts are less heat and a quicker system setup. A external mechanical HD being used for a daily backup....

  • 12/06/18--14:22: Scroll Wheel Gone Crazy
  • About ten days ago I began having trouble with the scroll wheel on my mouse. I'd scroll down, it would pop right back up to where I started. If I scrolled extra far it might pop up only partway to where I began. Maybe one time in ten it will actually do what it is told. It did this across all applications: Browsers, Word, Explorer windows, you name it. So I went out and bought a new...

I use to be able to fill, expand or shrink, a letter to fit on one page. Maybe it was with Word Perfect? Maybe with MS Word, but I'm not finding it even after Googling. I'm writing Christmas letters and some are short, maybe a 1/2 page. Others are longer, maybe 1 1/2 pages. What I'm currently doing is playing with margins and font sizes to get each letter to (fully) fill just one page. ...

I have run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and ADW Cleaner with no change. In Administrative Events, the red items are mostly Event ID 7031, 7034 and 7036 from source Service Control Manager.
