Hey all! Replaced the HDD with a new one and obviously installed a fresh os - windows 7. Didn't move anything over from the old HDD, installed all drivers from the laptop site and no programs except for opera browser, and yet...it is still really slow. Extremely frustrating. If i move fast between tasks, like opening a window or a menu, it takes time to load - the start menu will actually...

Hey guys! I would like to know how i can get a folder to automatically name itself the name of the folder it's created in...when i create it. You know how when you right click in a folder and select "New > Folder" and it creates a folder and names it "New Folder" with the name already highlighted and ready to be renamed. Just a heads-up... We are getting reports that the latest Update for Outlook, KB4461529, is causing Outlook to crash on opening (or to be more precise, on the attempts to Sync after opening) The problem remains even when starting Outlook in Safe Mode. The only solution so far is to uninstall the update (from Installed Updates) - and hide it. This ONLY affects the 64-bit version of...

Good afternoon, I was given a laptop when I left a company I was working for about 10 years ago. I know, it is a relic now! It came with Vista and Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 installed. I have another laptop where I need to re-install Win 7 and I would like to also install Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 SP3. Is there any where that you can recommend where I can download a safe ISO...

Hi, First Post At 72 I don'see as well as I used to, but I'm not blind either. I tried enlarging the icons on the computer but it looks ridiculous and hurriedly changed it back to normal. What I'd like to know is, can I change the icons in my video folder and make just that folder large icons by default as I download a lot of YouTube video tutorials and its hard to distinguish them when...

every morning, or after being idle for awhile, when I go to speedtest I am at 1.5 =/- Mbps. If I then go to the system tray and disconnect then reconnect to my network, I get speeds of 50+ Mbps. It will stay this way as long as I use the PC. If I am idle for too long - not sure but a few hours - the speed drops again. I am currently using a t-llink wn723N USB adapter, but I have several others...

I am trying to clone a SSD to a HDD using a Fideco HDD dock. The SSD has approximately 900 Mb of data on a 2 Tb SSD and the new drive is a freshly formatted 2 Tb Seagate HDD. I have followed the instructions exactly, not connected to PC, same or higher drive on both sides. However, after about 24 hours it appears stuck on 50%. I do not want to disconnect or switch off the dock even though the...

I have been reading through the threads here but can't find a situation like mine. I am running win 7 pro on a clean setup for about a month. No new SW added anytime recently. I boot up and the PC goes black, no cursor or anything through win login. It comes back if I RIGHT CLICK the mouse and shows the rt click menu on desktop. If I open a window, any window, it will operate normally. As...

I have four computers in my house, but only two are relevant to the discussion: I have the Bedroom Computer (Which I will call "B") and a gaming room computer (which I will call "A"). I bought an SSD drive for Computer A and it had a 5+ year old install of Windows7 on it, so I wanted to reinstall Windows 7. The problem is, computer A does not have an optical disc drive, so I juggled...
