I have a Workgroup network of PCs running a mix of Win7 (3 machines: T1600, T5500, Optiplex), Win10 (1 machine: T5810) and WinXP (1 old PC). The other Win7 PCs (T5500 & Optiplex) only see themselves and the 2 other Win7 PCs. In 'Network &...

I've done searches on the topics of homegroups and workgroups, here and elsewhere, and read threads until my eyes have glazed over, but there are still some points I'm missing. Normally, I can research and figure this stuff out on my own, but I'm at the point now that the more I read, the more confused I get. Up to now, I've used a blend of homegroup and workgroup on our network, but it's not...

I ran chkdsk /X /f on a SD card and it found 139 files. but it couldn't recover them as the SD card was full and there was no space to write them. why was it trying to write the recovered files onto the same drive? Surely even windows cant be that daft. Is there some way I can tell chkdsk to write the recovered files to a different drive or volume? However it did write 36 damaged files back onto...

Basically, the system is a play / sandbox machine...
