Windows 7 unresponsive at times

There are times when Windows 7 (Professional 64-Bit) is unresponsive. I can move the mouse but when I click or double-click on anything, such as an icon or the start button, it does not respond. Then later, maybe 3 minutes later, all of the things that I clicked/double-clicked begin responding. It's as if all my clicks were stored in a stack and processed later after some higher priority...

files and ownership and so on

One of the biggest pains about windows 7 I find is having to change ownerships on all these files, and what you're allowed to do. That might be an ok feature if you found it useful and needed it. Can you turn the whole thing off? I install something and because a feature owns it I have to change it to my ownership and give myself privledges and still can't erase the folder.:doh:

I dual boot a Win 7 and Win XP system and use the same USB wireless keyboard and mouse for each (Logitech K800 keyboard and M510 Logitech mouse). Both keyboard and mouse worked well on either system until I ran Advanced System Repair Pro on each. Now, neither device works on the Win XP system. On both the Win 7/Win XP systems, the receivers show up in Device Manager-Universal Serial Bus...

Hey folks, 2 days ago I installed windows 7 ultimate on my laptop. I noticed the newest net framework it has is 3.5. Do I need anything newer? I think the newest version is 4.7.2. If I need to upgrade to 4.7.2, do I need to upgrade to 4, then 4.5, 4.5.1, 4.5.2, etc., all the way to 4.7.2? Thank you

Hi, I just got a fairly new hard drive from my sister, and when I started the computer, it already had a default network connected to the internet. I had a previous hard drive and internet connection setup, and I believe it was wireless unlike this new default connection. My question is, is it safe to use even when I turn off network sharing and use it as a home network or do I need to remove...

This last time, I downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials. But today, I'm not allowed to use it or any other files - with the error message showing of, "you need to get admiinistrator rights in order to use program" - or words to...

I'm the dummy here. I have a system with a relatively small (250 GB) SSD for Windows 7 and another larger SSD and several external USB drives (various TB sizes). I am always near low disk space on C: despite having move almost all my user file off. The largest culprit is the pagefile.sys which I understood could be moved, which would free up about 24 GB. Whilst I created a paging drive on the...

---Quote--- Growing up in India, there was one good library in my town that I had access to—run by the British Council. It was modest by western standards, and I had to take two buses just to get there. But I was lucky, because for every child like me, there were many more who didn’t have access to the same information that I did. Access to information changed my life, bringing me to the U.S....
