I remember the old days (maybe XP or 2K) that you could tile all the open windows so you can see all the folders in one view. Is there a similar function for Windows 7 or 10? If not, is there a program provides that functionality? Thanks,

It's like it wont load...

I have a satellite ISP (HughesNet) with limited monthly data bandwidth, 20GB. Depending on what happens, sometimes we run smack up against that limit. Wife was streaming video last month. So it would be nice to be able to download the W7 updates during the low usage hours when our limit is another 50GB/mo. to save our daytime limits. But that is from 2am to 7am and I'm not interested in getting...

I am helping a friend that has a Toshiba laptop. It has been sitting for a few years. She says that when she logs on the laptop turns off. I have tried a repair disc (no help). I seems that all you have to do is power the device on and it will shut off in about 45 sec t6 a minute. In the logs that I was able to find about 2 years ago there was an update. I have pulled the hard drive out and am...

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero (socket 1150) i5 4670K Win 7 Pro x64 A while back, I started getting the occasional blue screen with stop error 0x0000007E, also mentioning asusfilter.sys, which seems to be a USB hub filter driver. Using Windows 7 on both my workstation at work and PC at home, pictures in the Extra Large Icons or Large Icons mode load like lightning (I mean, instantaneously) at home but takes an extremely long time, with the status bar at the top of Windows Explorer crawling every time on my workstation. I have enabled and set the icon cache size in the registry to 4096, and customized folder properties to...

If you had three wishes

So I watch the Thursday and Friday X-Files marathon on BBC America, and today they played the episode about a genie entitled Je Souhaite which is French for, "I Wish." It's one of my favorite episodes. So I got to thinking, if I had three wishes what would they be? Now given the context of the genie folklore and what happens in that X-Files episode, you'd have to craft your wish's very carefully....

I've tried the FF hlep sites to no avail. Maybe someone here can help. I need to stop these streaming videos on pages like the WashPost. Yesterday my wife left a tab open on the main page and it used up 1GB of data and we only have 20GB/mo. I've got the FlashPlayer add-on but these are not flash players, they are real time streaming videos. I seem to be able to stop them on my computer with...

Hello! Trying to fix my mother's fairly new (6 months old) HP Pro Book with my amateur knowledge of computers. Also that is why the zipped file is called FairyQueen because I like to mock her with that nickname. Windows auto update has been on so it has all those updates. She's also got Malwarebytes running and some HP Bloat Ware I haven't bothered removing.

Dynamic Range Compressor

I recently had to replace my beloved Corsair SP2500 speakers when the sub died. One thing I really loved about the SP2500 was it had a setting that compressed the dynamic range of music being played. Most of the music I listen to (Classical) has a wide dynamic range that can go from a whisper to ear splitting (and neighbor disturbing) and that dynamic range compression was a Godsend. Sadly, none...
