Very strange problem.
Hi,

A boot repair comes up with an unknown error with no details and no solution!

Avira installation causes restart crash
I am running Windows 7 64 bit. HP Laptop. I had uninstalled Avast and rebooted, downloaded the newest Avira antivirus free version for Windows 7. It installed with no problems, but when restarting blue screen of death said Windows cant start, restore worked thank goodness. I went online and did a virus scan, nothing found. I decided that maybe it was caused by Avast not uninstalling completely...

I have win 7,Sometime back,I asked if there was a way to get the'move to and copy to folder' feature,when I would right click on a folder or file in XP,it dropped down a menu that had those two options,but win 7 didn't have those options.

I've basically ignored device manager for years unless I've had a yellow tag.
However, dealing with some mouse issues I realized I don't fully understand the information that is being provided.
For example (see attachd device manager):
1) "Mice and other pointing devices"
Appears to show what windows thinks is actually attached to the system.

Windows search not returning email results
I've got two Windows 7 pro PC's (one is 64bit the other 32). Both have Outlook 32bit 2016 installed. The 32 bit PC returns mail items in the search results when the user searches from the search box in the Start Menu, but the 64bit PC doesn't.
What I have done.
1. Rebuilt the index
2. Ran a repair on the Office installation package
3. Unchecked Outlook in the Windows index locations,...

windows 7 very slow boot up
Hi there
Any help appreciated.
Running windows 7 home premium on a desktop.
Takes ages to boot up, 10+ minutes and generally running very slow.
I'm no techno.
Any pointers, places to look, programs that may help to find the issue appreciated.
BTW the task bar has lots of shortcuts in it. I did ask someone and was told that shouldn't affect it since it doesn't mean they are running.

How to restore profile from WIM File or Old Hard Drive
So i had a client bring me an old computer and i was going to sell him a new computer and transfer all the data over and have it boot just like the old system. How to transfer user profile from old hard drive?
How can i manually transfer a user profile from an old hard drive that wont boot into windows.
I need the user profile to show up in the accounts area and have the same SID etc....
I have a wim image of the old hard drive and the hard drive it self.
Old drive is un-bootable but is in good working order.

Solved windows created a new admin account behind my back
this is so weird.... i went to restart my PC today and came back to seeing 2 accounts on the login screen. this computer has always been mine and i am the only user/admin of the machine.
the "administrator" account is now the "real" admin, in the sense that you cannot delete it, and my account "chris", while also being an admin account, can be deleted.
is there any way to fix this? ...
