Hello, I am new to this forum. I am the only user of my PC and always log in as the Admin. I wanted to disable the creation of the hiberfil so I went into CMD prompt, went to C:\ and entered "powercfg.exe -h off" and entered Enter. I received the message that I do not have permission to make that change. I have confirmed I am logged in as Admin. How do I fix this? Thank You!

Hi I have Windows 7 SP1 and I have Windows Explorer that crashes every time I log in to an account. I don't have any additional program that starts at system startup. Using the sfc /scannow command, I verified that the system is integral. Now, what can I do to solve the problem? Thanks

ATA password question

I've owned nothing but Dell laptops and with most of them I set the ATA password for the HDD in BIOS. My newest laptop, a Latitude E6530 has an option to erase data if the default password is supplied. I was wondering what type of erasure is used? Is it perhaps a simple format? I'm thinking that's probably what it is. I encrypt my computers anyway, but the ATA password is extra security...

Starting a week ago, my desktop has started to freeze or lockup randomly. I can not do anything as audio cuts and keyboard/mouse does not work until I manually restart the PC. The times in which the freezes happen are completely random. One day it'll take approximately 54 minutes before it happens, the next time will be hours. I thought it might be a hardware issue regarding heat from...

It's been a few months since the repair install. That Windows>Logs>CBS folder was increasing in size by GB per day--I have no idea why, really; it kept doing that even after errors were fixed with help from Snick and others--but it doesn't do that anymore. I still don't know how to use a computer very well, but at least this one works so much better again, and the older one is better off after...

---Quote--- Google wants to know where you go so badly that it records your movements even when you explicitly tell it not to. An Associated Press investigation found that many Google services on Android devices and iPhones store your location data even if you’ve used a privacy setting that says it will prevent Google from doing so. Computer-science researchers at Princeton confirmed these...

(My specs are up to date: TL;DR Win7 HP, Samsung 960 SSD) * Background:* A couple days ago, I installed NordVPN on my PC. No problems with it. Last night my PC was running fine, except for some excessive lag on a game I was playing and I was the only one lagging. Shouldn't have been the VPN because I set a tunnel for it to get to the server. But, I decided to disconnect from the VPN and...

I am Autistic, and I have either a savant or a non-savant talent to find errors in almost anything. The only reason I am listing these errors on this particular firewall, and not others, since I haven't gotten around to testing if any errors exist in other firewalls. It usually just takes me a few seconds at most to figure out an error in programming. It actually takes me much longer to...

On my Windows 7 Pro computer I set out to copy my new video files from the SD card that I took out of the camera (Canon Vixia HF M41) and found that the computer cannot see the files, although I can see and play them in the camera. The computer can see the files that were recorded earlier. So, I thought, I'll use the software that came with the camera (Pixela Video Browser) to download them to...

Malwarebytes eating up Memory ???

Long story short, I have noted while malwarebytes is scanning the memory files, it really eats up system memory like 100% nearly the entire time may be 99% for a second or two. Is it normal ? I'm aware since its scanning memory files, it might add load but seriously 100% ? RAM usage is normal though around 1-2gb. I started noticing this around a couple of weeks ago while I was playing an...
