I turned our desktop computer (I'm typing on it now) on this morning and found that Opera cannot connect to the Internet. Every time I try, I get an error screen telling me there is no Internet connection. But there is; the taskbar icon shows that I am connected with an excellent signal strength. Furthermore, I CAN connect to the Internet via Internet Explorer. Opera works fine on all our other...

My monitor (VGA connection) started going to sleep a couple of days ago and when I turned in my PC today it says no signal. I have also tried plugging a HD TV into it via the HDMI port on my PC but I also get no signal.* I have tried re-seating the graphics card and tried a different port too. Also, I tried taking the power plug out of the back of the PC and keeping my finger on the power...

I have owned several HP Laptops in the past, and the OEM Support/Driver-Download site usually includes some LAN Driver from either Broadcom or Realtek. My latest acquisition is a circa-2011 HP DV7 Pavillion. Issues in this thread mainly refer specifically to this machine. My Windows test build is permanently Ultimate 64-Bit (Build 7601: Service Pack 1), with NO further Microsoft upgrade. ...

I now use wi-fi which i never allowed before because of security concerns. I am connected to the router via ethernet but am concerned about the wi-fi router itself being hacked or some security issues arising on the many devices connected to the router like other computers, laptops or mobiles which would then pass onto my device. I use anti-virus, anti-malware and a VPN. I have not allowed remote...

I inserted a rather large text box w/ 2 - 3 paragraphs. Now I cannot seem to exit and continue the record BELOW the text box. The help instructions say "When you are finished typing and want to switch back to editing text in your document, press SHIFT+F10, choose EXIT EDIT TEXT on the shortcut menu, and press ESC." That did get me out, but not below the text box. And I don't see a shortcut...

Hi all, This is my first post on this forum so please be patient with any errors I may make. My problem began 2 weeks ago when my PC began to crash uncontrollably resulting in a BSOD screen, the problem rapidly got worse with each subsequent boot up resulted in a faster BSOD error. Eventually my PC booted to a black screen with a single white dash on the upper right hand corner of the...

Hello, I'm having a quite old laptop from 2010 (Aspire 5745g/640m/420m/4gb/768p) with Win 7 Pro x64 in it. Every time I quit a game that is *not* running at native resolution (NFS:MW 2005 @ *640x480* instead of *1366x768* for example) the taskbar moves to the middle of the screen and completely stops responding for 5-6 minutes unless I purposely kill explorer.exe and restart it back. Whole...
